Buskers Aren’t Necessarily Homeless

March 21, 2011

At the metro the other day, a flute player was piping away. He continued without a flinch when an old lady stared pitifully, pulled out a sandwhich from her purse then placed it into his music case.

I decided to take a picture of this to inform others that not all musicians are beggars. Many buskers are professionals who take busking very seriously. They set an ambiance! Usually, busking is the last resort for musicians who haven’t a clue on how to monetize their talents.

For some, it’s a difficult decision after spending countless hours of practice, getting into obsene amounts of debt from music school and then face the possibility of being confused for begging.

A Great Explosive Ending! Tim Hortons Rocks!

March 9, 2011

Hello Readers,

I’m happy to announce that the little problem I had with Tim Hortons has been happily resolved. A few weeks ago, I ordered a fruit explosion from my local Tim Hortons only to find out that there was no filling in the centre, the ‘explosive’ part. I couldn’t really prove it, since I ate most of the muffin, so I wrote a letter to head office to ensure that franchisee’s are mindful of putting the explosives in the muffins as the name promises. The filling is the only reason why I order the fruit explosion.

Tim Hortons responded to my email promptly, and even phone called me to apologize. They even insisted I go back to the same location to get my muffin. And the manager there was very nice, he knew my name and gladly gave me another muffin… with the fruit explosion!

I’m really impressed by their customer service! From head office, all the way to the super cheerful manager at the franchise! Go Tim Hortons!

No Fruit Explosion

February 26, 2011

*** March 9, 2011 – There is a happy ending to this story.  Read here!

Feb 26, 2011 – Readers, I got jipped over a $2 muffin. It wasn’t the first time it happened and God forbid, it won’t be the last time. I know it’s minor, but I can’t let businesses think they can get away with selling misleading products just because their cheap and people can’t be bothered to put up a fight. For me, it is not a matter of money, it’s the principal. Here’s my letter to Tim Hortons:

The perfect crime. I can hardly make a case with these crumbs and its packaging.

Hello Tim Hortons,

The other day I  ordered a fruit explosion at Tim Hortons at the Promenades Cathédrale location in Montreal only to find out there was no fruit explosion in the center. It was a lame way to start the day. I didn’t have the time to complain, nor did I have the proof! All I had were crumbs because I have a certain way of eating the muffin where I eat all around it before indulging in the center. That morning, there was nothing to indulge in but crumbs.

That little jelly that’s referred to as the ‘fruit explosion’ is one of those small and very few joys I get during a work morning! So you could imagine my disappontment. I can honestly say that this wasn’t the first time this happened. If you could send me a gift certificate that entitles me to a real fruit explosion, we can call it a truce. I will publish this letter on my blog so that way my friends and fans can see how this gets resolved.

Take care, March 9, 2011- *** ALL WAS RESOLVED!!! Read about it here!
